In 2019 Heather expanded into Thrive Medical with the goal of providing a holistic, client centred, quality practice where people will always come first.  Heather is driven to continue to improve her leadership skills to best support her team.   Heather’s approach to leadership is about nurturing independence and focuses on individual growth as well as growth as an organisation to best support her community.

Gemma Hansen

Care Services Manager

GEMMA HANSON

Management and Administration
Care Services Manager

Gemma studied her Bachelor of Nursing at Monash University in Melbourne and graduated in 2014. Throughout her nursing career she has worked in various specialised areas including spinal rehabilitation, orthopaedics, aged-care, and perioperative nursing.

Gemma thoroughly enjoyed working within the perioperative environment and went onto complete post graduate studies in Anaesthetics and Recovery Nursing at the University of Tasmania on a scholarship.

Looking for a change from city life, Gemma decided to complete a three-month agency contract in Broken Hill and five years later is still living here and thoroughly enjoys the slower pace of life and community connections. Gemma recently completed her Bachelor of Laws at Southern Cross University and graduated in 2023. Gemma has a strong passion for helping others and believes the role of NDIS Care Services Manager allows her to continue assisting others in a different capacity. Gemma finds her law degree helpful in this role to navigate the complex legal framework surrounding the NDIS, which ultimately contributes to better outcomes for participants and more robust support systems.

Outside work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her family, reformer Pilates, reading a good book and snowboarding.
