Rehabilitation Consultant

Core Responsibilities:

Thrive Medical have recently been successful in obtaining registration with SIRA to deliver Workplace Rehabilitation Services in the following areas:

  • Return to work with the pre-injury employer
  • Return to work with a different employer

 

Day to Day Duties:

  • Assist patients to navigate their rehabilitation from work related injuries.
  • Build trusting relationships with your client and develop a collaborative partnership ensuring the highest quality of rehabilitation is achieved.
  • Refer to OT/PT for work site assessments, functional assessments and Psychology for Vocational assessment/counselling as necessary.
  • Assess barriers that may arise in the return-to-work/injury management process and identify sustainable and safe outcomes for all.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders inclusive of but not limited to Insurers, Employers, Injured Workers and Medical Professionals.
  • Provide case management and prepare detailed documents to facilitate the injury management process and ensure effective record management is maintained.
  • Comprehensive report writing of initial assessments, letters to treating professionals, return to work plans/suitable duties plans and progress reports.

  • Maintain awareness of current evidence and research on clinical practices and inform/educate other practice staff.
  • Change systems and procedures to ensure compliance with best available evidence as applicable.

Essential Requirements:

  • AHPRA Accredited Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist/ASORC or RCAA Accredited Rehabilitation Counsellor/ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License and own vehicle
  • Current CPR
  • Current National Criminal Check or willing to gain

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must pass and maintain a suitable pre-employment Police Check. Employment may be terminated as a result of details disclosed in a Police Check report. Incumbent must provide Thrive Medical with evidence of currency on a 3-year basis and as required.
  • All positions are subject to a probationary period of three months. Ongoing employment will be subject to successful performance during this time.
  • Adhere to Thrive policies and procedures and utilise resources provided
  • Ensure client and staff confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license as you may be required to travel intrastate and interstate.
  • Some out of hours work will be required from time to time but will be managed in a manner that ensures work / life balance.
  • Maintain a smoke free working environment.
