Alanna Byrne

Clinical Paediatric Psychologist

Alanna is a warm and collaborative therapist who strives to support her clients to live fulfilled and connected lives. Presently, she primarily sees children and adolescents. She has experience helping children with diverse neurological presentations, such as Autism and ADHD, as well treating common childhood concerns such as behavior difficulty, anxiety, emotion regulation, self-esteem, and others.

With a Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology, Alanna has worked across public health, NGO, and private settings to help people of all ages through emotional, behavioral, or relationship challenges that they may be facing.

Alanna has worked at specialist domestic violence services and is passionate about helping people of all ages heal from trauma. She grounds her practice in attachment theory and has training in multiple trauma treatment modalities (EMDR, TF-CBT, Narrative techniques) that she uses to support her clients in holistic healing.

As a new parent, Alanna also has a special interest in perinatal mental health concerns and infant wellbeing. She is passionate about helping people during their journeys to and through parenthood, including challenges such as fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and peri- and post-natal mood disorders. Alanna is currently completing additional training in Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples to further support the families she works with during difficult times in their lives.
