Heather studied Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia prior to graduating in 2002. Heather was born and raised in a farming community in Eyre Peninsula and developed a love for rural communities and their people.
Heather has worked in various areas of Occupational Therapy in the UK and in Australia but particularly enjoys the diversity, challenge and authenticity of rural and remote health.
Heather opened Interhealth in 2013 after seeing a growing need in Broken Hill for locally based medical, allied health and disability services. Heather’s main vision is to create the framework and resources to ensure the people of Broken Hill have the same access to services their city counterparts can.
In 2019 Heather expanded into Thrive Medical with the goal of providing a holistic, client centred, quality practice where people will always come first. Heather is driven to continue to improve her leadership skills to best support her team. Heather’s approach to leadership is about nurturing independence and focuses on individual growth as well as growth as an organisation to best support her community.
