Clinical Psychologist

Samantha is a registered Clinical psychologist, Medicare approved, SIRA registered, based in Sydney providing services regionally across NSW with over 22 years’ experience in Clinical Psychology services to adults ( 16 – 65) following complex and catastrophic injuries, particularly acquired (ABI) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Samantha is passionate about not only supporting the individual presenting but their support networks both formal and informal which are crucial for improving their outcomes of achieving their goals, however big or small.  Samantha has a particular interest in promoting friendships after brain injury.

Samantha has worked in both inpatient and community settings in areas such as rehabilitation, health, pain management, and alcohol and other substance related brain impairment and disability. Samantha has managed and supervised teams of clinical and support staff. Samantha was instrumental in setting up services for individuals with acquired brain injury in NSW who previously fell through the gaps.

Samantha has worked both in Australia and UK, in both government, not for profit and for profit settings, providing under both nationally funded and compensation schemes.

Samantha’s expertise includes providing community based psychological rehabilitation services, including individual support, development and implementation of behavioural support strategies, mentoring and extensive training to the sector in supporting individuals with complex challenges after acquired brain injury. 

Samantha’s experience also includes collaborative and ongoing research, including supporting family members understand challenging behaviours after TBI, goal setting and capacity building, with presentations at IMSOP, ASSBI and the 2nd Annual national ABI conference, including an abstract published in peer-reviewed Brain Impairment Journal.
